Its aroma is fresh, evergreen and slightly balsamic, and the oil presents as a clear, colorless liquid with a strong middle fragrance note. Steam distilled from the needles of the species abies (alba or balsamea), it is a type of pine tree widely grown in the northern hemisphere. Fir needle essential oil from Canada is considered one of the highest quality available. Note: The labels for this product (Fir Balsam) will be revised soon.
